Il Teatro Ristorante Italiano is partnering with three renowned Italian chefs for three bi-monthly special Italian guest chef events taking place in August, October and December 2023. Each guest chef's special menu will be based on varying delectable themes.
The first guest chef event took place on the evening of August 8 with Chef Natalino Ambra with an "Italian Riviera" Summer Wine Dinner theme. It was a six-course seafood focused dinner with six glasses of selected wine and prosecco to pair with the food. Then, starting on August 10, the Riviera summer special menu was launched, also with wine pairing choices for all diners to sample. This menu will run through the summer, allowing future diners to spend the summer in the Italian Riviera style.
Natalino Ambra, currently based in Singapore, is one of Asia's most talented up-and-coming Italian chefs. Natalino has more than 16 years of culinary experience at renowned restaurants across the world. Under Natalino's leadership the restaurants have harvested numerous international and local awards. Chef Natalino pursues the original and natural flavor of the best quality ingredients, while his creativity in their combination and preparation methods enhance the flavor and challenge diners' taste buds.
Il Teatro is located in the center of Xintiandi North Block. This 700-square-meter restaurant has two floors and two outdoor areas. Il Teatro specializes in both traditional and creative Italian cuisine inspired by both the north and south of Italy, including Italian appetizers, Venetian cicchetti, oven-roasted pizza, handmade pasta, grilled seafood and steak, imported ham and cheeses.
The signature pizza is made by an imported Moretti oven that gets up to 500 degrees. Daily hand-made dough is proofed for over 12 hours to ensure the best flavor and texture. Handmade pastas in varying shapes and sizes are always a favorite among repeat diners.
At Il Teatro, they know that a good Italian meal is best paired with great Italian baked goods and desserts. Their signature tiramisu, fresh tomato focaccia, and Italian maritozzo are proof of this. They believe the Italian saying that, "food is the theatre of life." And desserts are the sweetest part of that life.
